Our Mission

The AIIRI’s mission is to develop and nurture integrative artificial intelligence and  informatics research. This institute brings together preeminent researchers that explore contemporary application areas across the university, with UF experts developing the tools and technologies that support and complement these studies. Collaborative efforts nurtured by the AIIRII will bring insights into complex physical, natural, social, and engineered systems, aiding decision-makers in diagnosing and treating diseases, and powering the next generation of technologies that will position UF to meet emerging challenges in the coming decades. AIIRI aims to aid in the development of research collaborations in AI and Informatics across the UF community, enhance the visibility of our research both internally and externally, and support our AI and Informatics research.

AIIRI is part of UF Research, the central hub for all research conducted at the University of Florida. UF Research is led by David Norton, vice president for research and a professor of materials sciences and engineering.
